Renting From Us

How hiring an attachment works, from picking one to bringing it back — including what you need to bring and how to keep it longer if the job runs over.

How it works

  1. Find what you need

Browse the attachments and pick your dates. The calendar only offers days we can actually supply, so if a date is open, it is yours.

  2. Book it

Reserve online and the dates are held straight away. You can also ring us and we will book it at this end.

  3. Collect it

Bring a driver's licence and a card in the same name. We check the ID, you sign the hire agreement on screen, and we photograph the attachment as it leaves so its condition is on record. The deposit is taken here.

  4. Use it

We email a reminder the day before it is due back. If the job runs over, you can keep it longer — see below.

  5. Bring it back

Return it reasonably clean with the hydraulic couplers capped. We photograph it again, settle the deposit, and email you an itemised receipt.

How many we have

We often own several of the same attachment. The listing shows one of each so the page stays readable, and tells you how many there are when you tap through:

8'x4' Ground Protection Mat
$25 / day · Mats

20 available · 18 free right now

If it says none free right now, we still have them — they are just all out. The calendar will show you when the next one is back.

Keeping it longer

Jobs run over. If you booked online, open your account, find the hire and press Keep it longer. Pick a new date and you will be shown the price before anything is agreed.

No waiting for a reply

If the attachment is free, the extension goes through immediately. You do not need to ring us or wait for anyone to get back to you.

If somebody else has it booked

You will be told the latest date you can keep it, rather than simply refused. That is the day before the next customer collects it, so there is time to check it over in between.

Keeping it past that date means somebody else cannot start their job. Those days are charged at the full daily rate with no weekly discount, plus any costs it causes us.

Booked over the phone or at the counter? Extensions are still fine — just ring us, as there is no account attached to that booking.

What it costs

WhatHow it works
The hire Charged by the day, with better rates by the week and the month. A longer hire never costs more than a shorter one — if a week is cheaper than six days, you pay the week.
Several at once Hiring five mats costs five times one mat, and each one still gets the weekly rate on a long job.
The deposit Refundable, taken when you collect, and returned once the attachment is back and checked. Hiring several means a deposit on each.
Late days Charged at the full daily rate. Extend instead — it is usually cheaper and it keeps the next customer's job on track.
Anything not returned Charged at what the item sells for.

Questions we get asked

What do I need to bring?

A driver's licence and a card in the same name. We record the licence type, issuing state, last four digits and expiry — not the whole document.

Why do you photograph the attachment?

Both of us end up with a record of its condition. It protects you as much as us: a mark that was already there when you collected it is on file, with a timestamp.

When do I get my deposit back?

Once the attachment is back and checked over. We email an itemised receipt showing anything deducted and what was returned. Bringing the machine back does not clear it on its own — it is settled at check-in.

Can you deliver?

Yes, within range of the yard. There is a flat fee for the first few miles and a per-mile rate beyond that. Ring us or book online and we will quote your address exactly.

What if it breaks while I'm using it?

Stop work and ring us. Fair wear is ours to deal with. Damage from misuse, overloading, running outside the rated flow or pressure, or fitting it to an unsuitable machine is charged at the cost of repair.

Can I buy one instead?

Most of what we hire is also for sale. Hiring and buying show as separate listings for the same attachment, so look for the For Sale card.

Not sure which one you need?

Tell us about the job — the machine you are running and what you are trying to do — and we will tell you what fits.
